Virtual Market Tour with Karen Stanfer, MPH, RN, LD and Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist through Health Risk Reduction, LLC on May 15 at 6 p.m. in Area Room 1

This tour is lots of fun and interactive! The trend to incorporate healthy food choices for our daily meals can create some confusion on what path to follow: what is low-fat? What oils are healthy and why? What is a good carbohydrate? What items are lower in added sugars? Buy Organic or not? Frozen vs. fresh? Through a combination of slides, digital resources, and an interactive program, participants get to “walk” through the grocery store and discuss the items everyone will “see." There will be some hands-on experience with a few food products too. Participants can then decide what should be “purchased” based on the above. Participants will actively learn how to choose food wisely and in a manner that will present healthier options for them. There will be time for Q&A afterwards.
