Esther Hexter invites all senior learners to come explore Jewish city life in exciting class The Jewish Street: The City & Modern Jewish Writing 2.  Class members will participate in lively interactive discussions to explore the complex relationship Jews have forged with city life, the iconic “Jewish street” (die Yidische gas), over time in many places in the world through stories.

The book for the class is The Jewish Street: The City and Modern Jewish Writing: An Anthology, edited by Murray Baumgarten & Lee David Jaffe.   Students are to purchase their own copies.

The class sponsored by the Jewish community Board of Akron is the spring class of the 2017 Encountering Jewish Culture series, is funded by a grant from the Edward I. Abramson Program Fund, Jewish Community Board of Akron.
