Traditional Camp Option #1
Winter Camp Shalom (Peace) for Grades K-2

If you like a daily variety of activities, then Winter Camp Shalom is for you. Designed specifically for the developmental level of younger campers. You’ll make new friends and have fun with special projects, enriching activities and experiences that relate to new and different winter themes. Campers will create thematic arts and crafts projects, explore through hands-on science projects, plus daily swimming, music, sports, outside play (weather permitting), cooking projects, Israeli Culture and games. Campers will enjoy Friday field trips and Shabbat programs. 

  • Dec. 22 Field Trip: Chuck E Cheeses (includes pizza lunch and games)
  • Dec. 29 Field Trip: Bowling & Games (includes pizza lunch)

Regular Day (9 a.m. –3:30 p.m.): $42/Member, $55/Guest*
Extended Day* (7 a.m. –6:00 p.m.): $49/Member, $63/Guest*

Winter Camp Sababa (Cool) for Grades 2-7 

Campers will enjoy a variety of exciting field trips along with indoor swimming, games, sports, culture and activities at The J.  Campers will enjoy all camp Shabbat program on Fridays. 

  • Dec. 21 & 22 Field Trips:  Fun & Stuff; All Fired Up (Canvas Art Project)
  • Dec. 26-29 & Jan. 2-3 Field Trips: (No camp Dec. 25 & Jan. 1): Polar Putt-Putt; Akron Fossils & Science Center; The Ice Rink at Lock 3; Bowling and Games; Cleveland Museum of Natural History & Harry London Chocolate Tour.

​TNBA Basketball Holiday Clinic for Grades 2-7

The Holiday Hoops Clinic combines stations, drills, and skills with fun games every day. All skills, separated by age. Clinic includes instruction and play: Ball Handling and Dribbling, Point Moves, Motion Cuts, Catch and Shoot, Defensive Footwork, Ball Screens and More, 3 on 3 Tournament, 5 on 5 Game Play and Team Competitions & Shooting Contest.

  • Dec. 27-29, 9 a.m.-noon; Location: Shaw JCC
  • Cost: All 3 days - $75 Member/$95 Guest
  • Specialty Camp Extended Care Add-On (7 a.m.-6 p.m.), $7/M & G per day

Specialty Camp Option #2
Winter All Sports Camp  at Force Sports (indoor field)  for Grades 2-7 

All Sports Camp for Boys and Girls will play fun games organize and staffed by the pros at indoor turf field at Force Sports, Fairlawn. Daily sports include kickball, capture the flag, soccer, lacrosse and more. Learn skills, drills and be involved in friendly competitions at the Campers separated by age. Transportation leaves 12:30 p.m. from the Shaw JCC to Force Sports at 215 Springside Dr., Fairlawn and returns to the JCC by 3:30 p.m.

  • Dec. 27-29, 12:30-3:30 p.m. (off-campus & includes transportation to/from The J)
  • Cost: All 3 days - $75 Member/$95 Guest

Specialty Camp Option #3
Songwriting Camp with David Palomo for ages 10-15

Campers will explore their creativity through involvement in the process of songwriting.  The first two days will be spent in creating and developing songs.  On the third day they will record their songs.  The fourth day will be devoted to creating CD’s of the students’ songs and shooting video of some of the songs as performed by the students. Space limited to 12 campers
David Palomo is the founder/Director of Music Together Summit which for 10 years has been the premier provider of research-based family music classes for infants, toddlers and their parents. He is also a long-time member of the Summit County Songwriters Circle and has served on its board of directors.

  • Dec. 26-29 (4 days), 9 a.m.-noon 
  • Cost: $120/Member & $160/Guest

Please be advised; Winter Camp field trips and activities are subject to change and/or cancelled.

Lunch
Please bring a dairy (non-meat) sack lunch unless otherwise noted on the schedule. Camp Shalom lunch included Dec. 22. Camp Shalom and Sababa lunch included Dec. 29. 

What else to bring:
Swim suit, towel, dairy lunch, warm apparel for outdoors.

Each camp is led by experienced camping professionals. They are joined with staff that has specific experience and education with the age groups they are assigned.
