Mandel Early Childhood Education Center hosts Hanukkah Party, Dec. 21 & 22

Mandel ECE families are invited to join us Dec. 21 and 22 at 6:15 p.m. for a Hanukkah Party! Children will sing a few songs followed by refreshments and a Hanukkah craft. Plus, families will have an opportunity to have their professional photo taken in our winter-themed photo booth at no cost. No RSVP needed. Wednesday, Dec. 21 - Rooms 4, 6, 7 & 9 and Thursday, Dec. 22 - Rooms 5, 8, 10, 11 & 12.

 

You can help light up a life! Bring cans for the Canorah

Please help collect cans for the "canorah" at the Chanukah at the Mall event by bringing cans to the synagogues or Shaw JCC in advance. Join us Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the food court at Summit Mall to light the "canorah." All cans will be donated to the Akron/Canton Food Bank to help those in need.

 

Holiday Hoops Basketball Clinic & Contest runs Dec. 28-30

Players in grades 2-8 will learn a variety of drills to become a more complete basketball player from ball handling, shooting, passing to defensive systems, game situations and contests. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. all three days. Cost: $60 M/$85 G. Register online.

Shlichim Program: Northern Cheyenne & Judaism - A Common Destiny

On Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m., Shay will share the similarities between the culture and faiths of the Northern Cheyenne nation and Judaism. This FREE presentation will include photos from his trip to the Northern Cheyenne nation in Montana with The Lippman School. RSVP to Shay or call 330-316-5699.

 

When School's Out, the Shaw JCC is in!

Is your child’s school closed for in-service, holidays or bad weather? Then, we have the perfect solution for you! At our School's Out program, your child’s day, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., will be filled with fun activities at the gym and indoor pool. No School's Out programming scheduled for Mondays, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2. Order your Mah Jongg Rules
 
NA'AMAT is now accepting orders for 2017 mah jongg rules. The rules are $8 for the standard size rules and $9 for the larger print rules. Please send your order with name, address, the number and size rules you want, and a check payable to NA'AMAT USA, c/o: Debbie Rosen, 835 Sutton Place, Akron, OH 44313. Orders should be received by mid-January. These rules will be mailed directly to your home from The National Mah Jongg League. 

 

Mystique of a Jewish Wedding - Sunday, Dec. 18
 
Women and girls are invited to discover the insights and meanings of a Jewish wedding, Sunday, Dec. 18, 5:30 p.m., at Anshe Sfard.
