It's the End of the School Year

Where did the time go? It doesn’t seem possible that May is here and that we are winding down our school year. What a wonderful year it has been for our ECE families and community. We joined together for a Sukkot Festival, Thanksgiving feasts, Grandparents Day, a Hanukkah program, an Art Show, Mitzvah night and MORE! I will be forever grateful for all of the hands that helped to make each of these events a success.

I am truly thankful too for the amazing teachers that I work with each day. These men and women help to create our ECE family. Their dedication, devotion and drive to make each child’s day their best day does not go unnoticed. Monday begins Teacher Appreciation Week and through your kindness we will celebrate our amazing teachers with special happenings and daily surprises to show our gratitude. Thank you to all that helped provide a wonderful week for our teachers.

On Friday, May 10, we will honor our moms, grandmas and special ladies with Muffins with Mom breakfast. We welcome you into our classrooms with your children to enjoy a light breakfast before starting your day. Breakfast begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 9 a.m. We look forward to spending some time with you!

Our Pre-K children are celebrating the end of the school year with a Pre-K Graduation on Wednesday, May 22 at 6:15 p.m. Graduation is such a bittersweet time for us all as we wish all of our Pre-K friends the very best as they head to Kindergarten this fall. A fun evening filled with singing and surprises is in store for our Pre-K families. This year is a tough one for me as many of the children in the Pre-K Graduating Class of 2019 were in the infant room when I started here at the Shaw JCC. I feel as if I am watching my very own children start a new adventure. What a privilege I have had to watch them grow!

Finally, we will celebrate the end of our school year on Friday, May 31 from 11 a.m.to 12:30 p.m. with our annual Funtastic Finale at the back camp pavilion. A fun-filled morning is planned for our ECE children, and we welcome you to join us if you are able. Look for more details coming soon!
