Remembering Camp & Youth Director Scott Zorn

Dear Shaw JCC Members and Friends,

It is with a broken heart that we share with you that Scott Zorn, our Camp and Youth Director, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 1. Scott was a wonderful friend and colleague to all of us and touched the lives of so many of our members, families and children throughout his 15+ years of service to the JCCs in Akron and Tucson.

His kind heart and fun loving spirit have left a lasting mark on the Shaw JCC. The loss of “Shabbat Scott” will be deeply felt by the entire Akron Jewish community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Julie, and his two children, Haley and Dylan, at this very difficult time. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. Many of you have asked how you can make a contribution to The J in Scott’s memory. For those who are interested please use the donation form below or visit www.shawjcc.org/give. Your donations will benefit youth programs such as Camp JCC, Maccabi Games, BBYO and more at the Shaw JCC through the Scott Zorn Scholarship Fund.

All are invited to funeral services on Friday, January 4, at 1 p.m., at Gordon-Flury Memorial Home, 1260 Collier Road, followed by interment at Rose Hill Burial Park, 3653 West Market Street, Akron.
