For more than 30 years, Janice has been teaching swimming and other physical activities at The J. 

For Janice safety is her highest priority when teaching kids how to swim. To her, children need to learn how to be safe in the water, so they can be confident swimmers.

One memorable success story she has had is one little boy that she had been teaching swim lessons for a little more than a year. When he first started, everything was “I can’t” and he wouldn’t put his face in the water. He is now swimming the length of the pool.

Janice’s favorite part of her job is being able to work with children of all ages. She loves to be playful with them, occasionally teasing them, talking with them, challenging them to try one more skill before they finish the lesson or game.

The J is lucky to have someone like Janice as part of the team!
